UNDATED (AP) — Riley Cooper has returned to the Philadelphia Eagles after he was caught on video using a racial slur and given four days off. The wide receiver was fined by the Eagles after his slur became known Wednesday. He left the team Friday to seek counseling.

The video of Cooper was taken at a Kenny Chesney concert in June. Cooper apologized profusely Wednesday and Thursday.

— Eagles wide receiver Arrelious Benn suffered a torn ACL in his left knee and will miss the upcoming season. Benn is the third Philadelphia veteran to suffer a year-ending knee injury in coach Chip Kelly's first season, joining receiver Jeremy Maclin and linebacker Jason Phillips.

— The Jets have determined that Mark Sanchez will start the clubs first exhibition game, against the Lions. He has been locked in a tightly contested battle at quarterback with rookie Gino Smith. Offensive coordinator Marty Mornhinweg (MORN'-ihn-wihg) says Sanchez has earned the start.

— Packers coach Mike McCarthy says that wide receiver Jordy Nelson will miss the rest of training camp after undergoing a procedure on one of his knees. The Packers are hopeful he will be ready for the Sept. 8 regular-season opener at San Francisco. Nelson had not practiced since Thursday.

— Colts coach Chuck Pagano (puh-GAH'-noh) says an MRI found no significant ligament damage in Darrius Heyward-Bey's sprained left knee and he is listed as day-to-day. The receiver has not practiced since he was injured Sunday at training camp.

— Miami Dolphins safety Reshad Jones has signed a $29.3 million, four-year contract that includes $15 million guaranteed. Last year he led the team with four interceptions and ranked fourth in tackles with 95, both career highs. He started every game.

— The Green Bay Packers have signed free agent Vince Young as a backup quarterback contender behind Aaron Rodgers. The Packers looked at their options after No. 3 quarterback B.J. Coleman threw two interceptions in the team's intrasquad scrimmage Saturday night, and decided to go with Young. Graham Harrell is No. 2 behind Rodgers.
