The Wyoming Department of Workforce Services released an online video Tuesday, in hopes of bringing awareness to disability employment.  October is National Disability Employment Awareness month.  Observed annually, the national effort seeks to raise awareness about disability employment issues and celebrates the many and varied contributions of America’s workers with disabilities.

The 2012 theme for National Disability Employment Awareness Month is "A Strong Workforce is an Inclusive Workforce: What Can YOU Do?"  In honor of this theme, the Department of Workforce Services has released an online video to raise awareness of the message.

“Every person has talents and abilities- and when everyone has the chance to contribute, our communities grow stronger,” said Joan Evans, Director of the Wyoming Department of Workforce Services.  “I strongly encourage our Wyoming employers to consider the valuable contributions people with disabilities can make to their workforce.”

The U.S. Department of Labor recently launched its online Workplace Flexibility Toolkit to provide employees, job seekers, employers, policymakers and researchers with information, resources and a unique approach to workplace flexibility.  The toolkit points visitors to case studies, fact and tip sheets, issue briefs, reports, articles, websites with additional information, other related toolkits and a list of frequently asked questions.  It is searchable by type of resource, target audience and types of workplace flexibility, including place, time and task.
