UNDATED (AP) — Michael Vick will start for the Philadelphia Eagles in their preseason opener against New England on Friday night because coach Chip Kelly says it's his turn to go first in the quarterback rotation. Nick Foles also will take snaps with the starters, and Kelly says the second-year pro will start the second preseason game. Both Vick and Foles are expected to get between 12 and 20 snaps vs. the Patriots.

In other NFL news;

— Blaine Gabbert will get the start at quarterback for Jacksonville in their preseason opener against Miami, but coach Gus Bradley says Chad Henne will also get some snaps behind the first-team offensive line. Bradley also said running back Maurice Jones-Drew, who is recovering from foot surgery, won't play as a precaution.

— Offensive lineman Justin Anderson and tight end Dwayne Allen sat out Indianapolis' practice Thursday. Coach Chuck Pagano says Anderson has a "significant" pectoral muscle injury and early indications are that he may need season-ending surgery. Allen is out with a foot injury that was still being evaluated.

— The Arizona Cardinals have obtained defensive end Cordian Hagans off waivers from the Pittsburgh Steelers. Hagans, 6-foot-4 and 299 pounds, is a rookie free agent from Louisiana-Lafayette.
