The finalists in the University of Wyoming’s search for vice president of student affairs have been announced and are scheduled to begin visiting UW this week.

Tim Alvarez, vice president for student affairs at North Dakota State University, will be the first to interview on campus this Thursday and Friday, April 27 and 28.

Sean Blackburn, UW’s current associate vice president for student affairs and dean of students will interview on May 1 and 2. He will be followed by Bill Schafer, who was most recently the vice president for student life at West Virginia University. Schafer will visit the university on May 4 and 5.

The first interview was originally scheduled to begin Monday, April 24, but Lori McDonald, dean of students at the University of Utah, withdrew from consideration Friday.

The locations and times of the presentations will be announced as the presentations draw nearer. The presentations will be available for viewing on WyoCast for UW students and employees.

The vice president for student affairs oversees UW units focused on student life, including Residence Life and Dining Services, the Dean of Students Office, Campus Recreation, Student Health Service, the University Counseling Center and the Wyoming Union.
