UW Quarterback 5th In O’Brien Award Voting
LARAMIE, Wyo. (AP) — Wyoming junior quarterback Brett Smith is among the leaders in fan voting for the Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award.
Smith currently ranks fifth in round 1 of voting for the O'Brien Award.
The Davey O'Brien National Quarterback Award is presented annually to the nation's best college quarterback.
This is the seventh year fans have been offered the opportunity to participate in the voting. The Fan Vote counts as 5 percent during each round of voting and is combined with the results from the Selection Committee.
All NCAA Football Bowl Subdivision quarterbacks enter the season eligible for the award. The list will be narrowed down to 16 semifinalists, which will be announced on Nov. 4.
