The University of Wyoming is embarking on a new crusade for its student-athletes. It's a vision for the near future to move Cowboy/Cowgirl athletics forward.

Here is the new $44 million High Altitude Performance Center. These are just renderings of what the vision is.

It's an expansion and renovation of the current Rochelle Athletics Center. It will be built on to the R-A-C and come right up to the north end of War Memorial Stadium. It will triple the size of the current facility. It will expand from 48,000 square feet to 126,000 square feet.

It will include two weight training areas, a new football locker room, a state-of-the-art training table for nutritional needs, an expanded academic center and more.

The goal is to elevate UW to the national stage and benefit every Wyoming Cowboy and Cowgirl student-athlete.

The funding will be generated from $24 million the university will raise through mostly private donations. The state of Wyoming will contribute $20 million in matching funds.

The campaign already has a $3 million gift from Marian Rochelle. With state matching funds, they've got $6 million to start.
