Two people are dead following a head-on crash in Sublette County that also left a child injured Monday afternoon.

Marion Robinson, 44, of Bedford, and Mary Ann Menster, 62, of Pinedale, were identified as the people who passed away in a statement from the Sublette County Sheriff's Office on Tuesday.

The crash was reported at roughly 4:30 p.m. Monday after two vehicles -- driven by Robinson and Menster, respectively -- collided head-on on Highway 191 near mile marker 132.

Robinson was driving a 2010 Toyota Yaris northbound when he crossed the centerline and entered the southbound lane, hitting Menster's 2006 Subaru Forester head-on.

First responders performed CPR on Robinson, but those efforts proved unsuccessful and Robinson died at the scene. An 11-year-old passenger in Robinson's vehicle was taken from the scene in an ambulance and was treated at St. John's Medical Center before being released to a family member.

Menster was flown to Eastern Idaho Regional Medical Center in Idaho Falls, Idaho, where she died of her injuries.

Both drivers were wearing their seatbelts.

The Wyoming Highway Patrol is examining lane use and sun glare on the part of Robinson as contributing factors in the crash. The road surface was dry at the time.

Highway 191 was closed between Daniel and Hoback Junction for roughly four hours following the crash.

Menster and Robinson mark the 13th and 14th deaths on Wyoming's highways in 2019. That's compared to five deaths by this point in 2018, three in 2017 and four deaths in 2016 to date.
