Four people were involved in a crash on Wednesday, June 22 in which a speeding car ran into a dump truck on a dirt road in Weston County according to the Wyoming Highway Patrol.  The driver of the car, 44-year-old Todd Allen, and one of his passengers, 20-year-old Thomas White, did not survive.

Authorities say the accident occurred in the middle of the afternoon on Beaver Creek Road, which is a dirt road with no markings. Allen was driving a 2005 Pontiac Grand Prix at a speed estimated by Troopers to be around 70 to 80 mph and was in a left hand corner in the roadway when he approached a curve where trees obscure visibility. The driver of the empty dump truck, 44-year-old Timothy Rowhauser, was traveling in the opposite direction of the car in the middle of the road. The patrol says Allen braked but hit the dump truck and was ejected from the vehicle.

Rawhauser was the only one using using his seat belt. He was hospitalized along with the back seat passenger in Allen's car, 19-year-old Hayden Kitch.

Sergeant Stephen Townsend of the Wyoming Highway Patrol says alcohol use and speed are being looked at by investigators as contributing factors in the crash.
