For the second straight year, the Laramie Plainsmen are the kings of Wyoming 4A high school cross country. Led by Senior Jonah Henry's win in the 5K race, the Plainsmen captured their second consecutive team crown at the Wyoming State High School Cross Country Championships Saturday in Sheridan.
It may be a new venue, but it's the same outlook for both the #1 Laramie Lady Plainsmen and the #2 Laramie Plainsmen, as they take part in the 2013 Wyoming State Soccer Championships in Rock Springs tomorrow through Saturday. Both teams are expected to contend for state titles this weekend.
Laramie High School has 22 student-athletes competing at the all-class Wyoming State Track and Field Championships Thursday through Saturday at Harry Geldien Stadium in Casper.
During the 2013 season the Laramie High School cross country ski program has reached heights they haven't experienced in quite some time. Now with the Wyoming State Nordic Ski Championships here, the Plainsmen are looking to accomplish something they never have, while the Lady Plainsmen are seeking the top spot for the first time in 25 years.
