It’s been a long time coming for the Colorado Avalanche, but now game one of the Stanley Cup Playoffs has come and gone. The region is starting to back the team like they did in 2001.

The NHL playoffs have been going for two nights, and already there have been three overtime games. Two of those thrillers were last night.

It has been a long four years for the Colorado Avalanche and their fans, but over the weekend, the Avs did something that showed the light at the end of the tunnel for fans. They qualified for the playoffs.

At 18 years old, I was merely a freshman in college. I lived in a dorm and had a roommate for about a month--it didn't work out in the end. Essentially, I enjoyed the average college lifestyle.

The March 5 NHL trade deadline is right around the corner, and anything can happen between now and then. Big names are consistently moved, there are typically a lot of deals, and there is a greatly likelihood that the trade with work out for both teams.
