Another Winter Weather Advisory is in effect from 8 PM Saturday to 5 PM Sunday for an additional 5 to 10 inches of snowfall with blowing snow and winds gusting up to 60 mph.
It's been an unusually snowy winter so far in Cheyenne and especially Casper.
Townsquare Media earlier this week asked Cheyenne-based meteorologist Don Day Jr. how snow totals so far compare with the averages. Day gave us this statement:
''As always depends on location, currently Cheyenne has had 47” so far which is 9” above normal, Casper 86” which is 38” above normal, I don’t have Laramie data
Several winds of over 80 miles per hour were recorded in southeast Wyoming on Sunday and Monday, with a peak gust of 88 miles per hour recorded near Arlington.
The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service is warning residents of southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle to brace for brutally cold temperatures, bitter cold wind chills.
Southeast Wyoming is facing an "active weather pattern" over the next week, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.
That is expected to include warming and cooling weather, strong winds, blowing snow and possibly artic weather towards mid-week next week...
