In its 32nd year of honoring the nation’s best high school athletes, The Gatorade Company, announced McCade Johnson of Laramie High School as its 2016-17 Gatorade Wyoming Boys Track & Field Athlete of the Year.

Two individuals distinguished themselves from the Laramie High School track team at last weekend’s Wyoming State Track Championships.

Laramie’s McCade Johnson made a big splash Tuesday by breaking a 24-year old record at the Wyoming Track Classic in Casper.

Laramie High School seniors Carless Looney and McCade Johnson have both decided to become Wyoming Cowboys next fall.

McCade Johnson won a state championship in the hurdles for the second time this year last Saturday.
