Interior Secretary Ken Salazar and U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service official Daniel Ashe will travel to Wyoming within the next thirty days to discuss wolf management according to Senator John Barasso. The Wyoming republican senator announced on Tuesday that the Interior Department officials will meet with Governor Matt Mead and other Wyoming officials regarding ongoing wolf delisting negotiations.

Following the Obama administration announcement that it will lift 5,500 wolves from endangered species act protections, Wyoming Governor Matt Mead said in a release Wednesday that he is looking forward to the time when Wyoming has control over the wolves in the state.

The Colorado River Water Users Association held their annual conference this last weekend in Las Vegas. Interior Secretary Ken Salazar along with the Navajo Nation's President Joe Shirley Jr were in attendance. Both Salazar and Shirley signed an agreement that quantifies the tribe's water rights in the lower Colorado River Basin.
