The male grizzly weighing about 530 pounds drew a lot of attention from drivers after it was killed May 1 about 100 yards off the eastern highway into Yellowstone.
Yellowstone National Park announced on Tuesday that a Wildlife Biologist with the park observed the first grizzly bear of 2023 waking up from its hibernation.
The ruling will bar trophy hunts for grizzly bears in Wyoming and Idaho, according to an announcement from the environmental organization Earthjustice.
