This is the first national strike by the UAW since 2007, when the union shut down General Motors for two days.

Analysts at Cox Automotive said GM has enough vehicles on dealer lots to last about 77 days at the current sales pace.

The company says it has 113 reports of crashes and 13 injuries related to the problem.

No injuries have been reported.
