Due to COVID-19 measures, the flu had basically vanished, but Harrist says "there are indications that may not be the case again."

The shots take about two weeks to take effect, so people are being urged to get them now if they haven't already.

People are being advised to get flu shots and stay home if they do become ill.

Wyoming recorded 27 flu deaths last flu season, with most of the victims being elderly.

The nasal mist vaccines that have been available over the last few years are no longer being recommended.

Last flu season was markedly less severe than the previous season, which saw a record number of influenza-related deaths across Wyoming.
