A deputy who died trying to rescue a teenage girl from the North Platte River in 2011 will be honored with the Congressional Badge of Bravery.

The Wyoming Game and Fish Department will be holding two public information gathering meetings next week to discuss herd management objectives for the Rochelle Hills Elk Herd. The body of Bryan Gross, a 29-year-old Converse County Deputy, was found late Sunday morning in the North Platte River in Douglas. His body was recovered about 1.5 miles downstream from where he went into the water to help a struggling girl.
