Bridger-Teton National Forest

In 2010, a 67-foot Engelmann Spruce harvested from Wyoming's Bridger-Teton National Forest was chosen to be the US Capitol Chrismas tree.

The bears are classified as a threatened species.

The first burn is set for the backcountry Salt Range subalpine zone.

Fire danger in the area is currently high.

The cause of the fire is unknown.

People picking for personal use don't need a permit but can't collect more than 3 gallons per day.

They will only allow commercial morel hunting in the northern part of the Roosevelt Fire burn area.

Cheatgrass currently grows on about 40 square miles of the forest and is spreading at a rate of about 20 percent a year.
