A spokesman for the Sweetwater County Sheriff's Department says an investigation into reports of suspicious activity at the Jim Bridger Power Plant in Sweetwater County has found nothing definitive.

Dick Blust says the investigation was prompted by several incidents, including reports from residents of Point of Rocks that travelers in an out-of-state vehicle seemed overly interested in details about the plant. Blust says additional reports of aircraft flying low over the plant site in August and of people photographing the facility also raised concerns.

But he says federal aviation authorities and air traffic control officials in Salt Lake City have verified that most of the planes were on routine commercial flights. Blust says nothing else turned up in the investigation so has revealed any reason to think the facility faces any kind of threat.

He also says that reports of the plant being in lockdown status aren't true. Blust adds, however, that the plant has beefed up it's security as a precaution.
