The University of Wyoming is looking forward to the completion of a supercomputer being built in Cheyenne. The $70 million supercomputer will significently boost research productivity for UW faculty and students. The University of Wyoming faculty and students will use the computer to conduct carbon capture research on a scale which has never been possible before. Currently the University of Wyoming is the only university in the world that will have the ability to look at carbon capture on an experimental basis and will be able to simulate it with mathematics. A carbon capture simulation model takes days to complete. With the help of the new supercomputer simulation models will now only take a matter of minutes.
