The Cheyenne office of the National Weather Service is predicting wind chills of -10 to -20 degrees across Southeast Wyoming and the Nebraska Panhandle for Friday and Saturday night.

Windchills could reach -30 in the Sierra Madre and Snowy Range mountains.

The weather service posted this statement on its website on Thursday morning:

"Colder air has begun spreading across SE WY and the NE Panhandle in the wake of the low pressure system that has moved off to our east and will remain for the next few days. Friday morning and Saturday morning temperatures look particularly cold across the region. Friday morning lows will be in the low teens for most of the NE Panhandle while most of SE WY dropping into the single digits. Saturday morning lows will be slightly colder with most of the NE Panhandle and SE WY in the single digits. Sub-zero lows are expected for most of Albany and Carbon Counties in Wyoming, which includes Laramie, Saratoga, and Rawlins. Widespread sub-zero wind chills are also expected both Friday and Saturday morning with wind chills in the Snowy and Sierra Madre Ranges reaching as low as -30. Dress appropriately for winter conditions and limit outdoor exposure. Don’t be caught unprepared!"
