See Governor Mark Gordon’s June 16 COVID-19 Media Briefing
Gordon was joined at the media briefing by State Health Officer Dr. Alexia Harrist.
In his presentation, Gordon urged Wyoming residents to keep doing everything possible to prevent the spread of the virus.
Gordon noted there are currently eight Wyoming counties that have no known active coronavirus cases. He also related efforts to fight the spread of the virus to Wyoming's tourism industry, which has been showing some increases recently.
That's good news in a state who mainstay industries, of oil, gas, and coal, have been struggling recently.
Dr. Harrist, in her presentation, expressed concern about a party in Uinta County where young partygoers reportedly threw caution to the wind in terms of social distancing and other measures designed to fight the spread of COVID-19.
Uinta County has seen the number of coronavirus cases more than double this month, going form 35 on June 1 to 80 at last report. That jump has helped spark a statistical spike in statewide cases of the virus.
