While it looks like most of the severe weather will miss Cheyenne, the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service has posted Winter Storm Warnings and Winter Weather Advisories for other areas of eastern and southeastern Wyoming.

The service posted this statement on its website on Wednesday morning:

''Winter weather headlines continue across portions of the region today with widespread snow. Highest accumulations expected over the Sierra Madre and Snowy Ranges. Localized heavier totals closer to 6 inches possible from Lusk to Chadron. Expect snow-covered roadways and periods of limited visibility should you be traveling.''
