PHOENIX (AP) — Hanley Ramirez and A.J. Ellis hit consecutive homers in the 14th inning off Josh Collmenter, helping the Los Angeles Dodgers beat the Arizona Diamondbacks 7-5 on Wednesday night to complete a three-game sweep.

Los Angeles has won 15 of 18 to move within 1 1-2 half games of the NL West lead after its first sweep of Arizona since 2010.

Ellis tied the game with a two-out, run-scoring single in the ninth inning off Heath Bell and Ramirez hit the first pitch of the 14th off Collmenter (4-2) just over the wall in right field. Five pitches later, Ellis made it 7-5 with his fourth homer.

Kenley Jansen (3-3) pitched the final two innings for the Dodgers, who used all of their position players and had Zack Greinke, Monday's starter, pinch hit in the 10th inning.

Arizona went through eight pitchers in the 19th game in the majors to go at least 14 innings this season, according to STATS. There were 20 total last season.

UNDATED (AP) — It took a while but the Tampa Bay Rays' winning streak is now seven. Ben Zobrist delivered the walk-off RBI single in the 13th inning of the Rays' 4-3 win over Minnesota.

Zobrist lined a 1-2 pitch from Ryan Pressly into the gap in right-center field to end a 4-hour, 47-minute game that featured 35 strikeouts — 19 for Rays pitchers.

Tampa Bay climbed to a season-best 12 games over .500.

In the rest of the AL:

— Boston's David Ortiz has passed Harold Baines to become Major League Baseball's career leader in hits by a designated hitter. Ortiz collected his 1,689th hit as a DH in his first at-bat and also homered in the Red Sox' 11-4 rout of Seattle.

— Robinson Cano (kuh-NOH') hit a three-run homer, Lyle Overbay added a grand slam and the New York Yankees snapped out of their offensive funk with an 8-1 victory over the Kansas City Royals. That ends a three-game Yankee slide.

— Wei-Yin Chen returned from the disabled list to pitch seven innings of three-hit ball, and the Baltimore Orioles got a three-run homer from Nolan Reimold (RY'-mohld) in a 6-1 victory over Texas.

— Prince Fielder homered, Rick Porcello pitched six solid innings and the Detroit Tigers bounced back from an embarrassing loss with an 8-5 victory over the Chicago White Sox. Detroit allowed 23 hits in an 11-4 loss to the White Sox on Tuesday.

— Toronto scored three times in the top of the ninth to post a 5-4 win over Cleveland, which made it close with two runs in the bottom of the ninth. The Tribe fell three and a-half games back of the AL Central-leading Tigers.

In NL play:

— The Washington Nationals hit four solo homers off Cliff Lee in their 5-1 win over Philadelphia. Jayson Werth, Wilson Ramos, Anthony Rendon (rehn-DOHN') and Ryan Zimmerman all went deep to help Gio Gonzalez win his fourth straight game. Gonzalez is 7-3.

— Former Giants prospect Zack Wheeler pitched seven sharp innings, Marlon Byrd homered again and the New York Mets completed their first sweep in San Francisco since 1994 with a 7-2 win. The defending World Series champion Giants have lost 16 of 19.

— Giancarlo Stanton broke out of a 10-game RBI drought with a two-run double in the four-run first to help Miami top Atlanta 6-2. Placido Polanco drove in three runs as the Marlins snapped a five-game losing streak.

— Mike Leake (leek) bounced back from a rare bad outing by scattering four hits over 8 1/3 innings in Cincinnati's 6-2 win over Milwaukee. Leake retired 13 straight at one stretch between the fifth and ninth innings to improve to 8-4. Brandon Phillips contributed three RBIs to help the Reds break a three-game losing streak.

— Rockies starter Jorge De La Rosa took a one-hit shutout into the sixth inning and Colorado held on to give the left-hander his straight win against the San Diego Padres, 5-4.

In interleague action:

__ After losing their first 11 interleague meetings with Seattle, the Pittsburgh Pirates finally beat the Mariners. Francisco Liriano (leer-ee-AH'-noh) and two relievers combined on a five-hit shutout as the Pirates blanked the Mariners 5-0. Liriano is 9-3. He has won four straight starts and has a 1.26 ERA over that span.

__ The L.A. Angels trounced the Chicago Cubs 13-2. Josh Hamilton homered twice. Albert Pujols (POO'-hohlz), Brendan Harris and Mark Trumbo also went deep. The Angels have won 11 of 14.

__ The St. Louis Cardinals held off Houston 5-4. Matt Carpenter hit a two-run homer for the NL Central-leading Cards. Edward Mujica (moo-HEE'-kuh) earned his 25th save in 26 tries. He has appeared in six consecutive games, going 1-1 with four saves.

UNDATED (AP) — New York Mets right-hander Matt Harvey will skip his scheduled start on Saturday against the Pittsburgh Pirates, possibly setting the stage for him to start for the National League in Tuesday's All-Star game. Manager Terry Collins says a minor blister has recently bothered the rookie. Harvey is considered a top candidate to get the start at the Mets' Citi Field. He's 7-2 with a 2.35 ERA and leads the league with 147 strikeouts.

In other baseball news:

— Right-hander Yu Darvish has been placed on the 15-day disabled list by the Texas Rangers and will miss the All-Star Game next week. Darvish has a mild strain in his upper back.

— San Francisco pitcher Chad Gaudin (GOH'-din) is facing a lewdness charge after being accused of touching a woman's breast at a Las Vegas hospital earlier this year. Gaudin's attorney says the pitcher is suffering from an illness that causes disorientation. The 30-year old was arrested Jan. 27 and charged earlier this month with open and gross lewdness, according to The Las Vegas Review-Journal. The arrest wasn't publicized back in January and the newspaper reported on the case yesterday.

— Police in Georgia say the wife of former major league pitcher Kris Benson is in jail without bond after her husband accused her of threatening him with a gun. Smyrna police say 37-year-old Anna Benson was arrested Sunday on charges of aggravated assault with a weapon, possession of a firearm during the commission of a felony and trespassing.

— Ryan Howard had surgery yesterday to repair a tear in his left knee. The Philadelphia Phillies' slugger will miss between six to eight weeks.
