UNDATED (AP) — Yasiel Puig (yah-SEEL' pweeg) had another three-hit game, but he could do nothing to prevent teammate Brandon League from blowing a 3-1 lead.

The Arizona Diamondbacks scored four times in the ninth inning to earn a 5-4 comeback win over the Dodgers in Los Angeles. Willie Bloomquist gave the Diamondbacks their first lead of the night with a two-run single. Jason Kubel (KOO'-bul) and Paul Goldschmidt hit RBI singles in the ninth to help the Diamondbacks end a two-game skid.

Puig went 3-for-4 to raise his average to .500 since his recall a week ago. Mark Ellis cracked a solo homer and had three hits in the Dodgers' third straight loss.

Brandon Phillips was the only member of the Cincinnati Reds' lineup to drive in a run against the Chicago Cubs, and it was more than enough to lead a victory.

Phillips hit a grand slam in the third inning and tied a career high with six RBIs as the Reds whipped the Cubs 6-2. He put the Reds ahead with an RBI single four batters into the game before smacking his 10th homer of the season.

Homer Bailey allowed a run and four hits while striking out eight in eight innings of the Reds' 10th consecutive victory at Wrigley Field.

Also in the majors, Will Venable hit a three-run homer and Logan Forsythe added a solo shot while San Diego was building a 7-1 lead in a 7-6 win over Atlanta. The Braves made things interesting by scoring four times in the ninth on Evan Gattis' three-run homer and Jason Heyward's solo shot.

Jonathan Lucroy went 4-for-5 with two RBIs as Milwaukee downed Miami 6-1, the Brewers' fourth straight win. Carlos Gomez had three hits and two RBIs to back Yovani Gallardo (yoh-VAH'-nee gy-AHR'-doh), who tossed eight shutout innings and won for the second time since April 29.

The Boston Red Sox blew leads of 6-0 and 8-6 before Daniel Nava (NAH'-vah) and Jarrod Saltalamacchia (sahl-tah-lah-MAH'-kee-uh) hit RBi singles in the 14th inning to lead a 10-8 win over Tampa Bay. Saltalamacchia went 4-for-7 with three RBIs to lead the Red Sox's 15-hit attack.

Miguel Cabrera hit a two-run homer, but the Kansas City Royals still managed to win their sixth in a row, 3-2 over Detroit. Salavador Perez tied the game with a two-run triple and scored the go-ahead run on Lorenzo Cain's single.

Lance Berkman hit a tiebreaking, two-run homer in the seventh inning as Texas handed Cleveland its 12th consecutive road loss, 6-3. Jeff Baker also hit a two-run homer for the Rangers, who didn't allow a hit following Carlos Santana's three-run double in the third inning.

Baltimore beat the Los Angeles Angels 4-3 as Adam Jones belted a two-run homer and had three RBIs. Freddy Garcia allowed two runs in six innings to improve to 17-3 lifetime against the Angels.

Adam Dunn homered twice off R.A. Dickey and was 4-for-4 with five RBIs as the Chicago White Sox outscored Toronto 10-6 in a game delayed one hour because of fog. Dunn's production allowed the White Sox to overcome Jose Bautista's two home runs and five ribbies.

Raul Ibanez (ih-BAHN'-yehz) hit a solo homer and Hisashi Iwakuma (hih-SAH'-shee ee-wah-KAH'-wah) tossed seven strong innings as Seattle dealt Houston its fifth straight loss, 3-2. Iwakuma limited the Astros to an unearned run and four hits while striking out eight.

Red Sox right-hander Clay Buchholz could have his next start pushed back at least a couple days.

Buchholz left his start Saturday in the seventh inning with what the team called "neck tightness." Red Sox manager John Farrell indicated that Buchholz may not be ready to throw his normal between starts bullpen session on Wednesday, two days before his next scheduled outing.

The Red Sox also activated third baseman Will Middlebrooks from the 15-day disabled list.

Also in the majors, the Angels have activated outfielder Peter Bourjos (BOHR'-jus) from the 15-day disabled list. The move means All-Star Mike Trout will shift to left field when Bourjos is in the lineup. Bourjos, who missed 38 games with a left hamstring strain, was hitting .313 with two homers and eight RBIs before his injury.

Rangers second baseman Ian Kinsler has resumed baseball activities and wants to return during the team's longest homestand of the season, which begins tonight against Cleveland. Kinsler has been out since May 18 with bruised ribs and will go on a rehab assignment before he's activated.

Phillies catcher Erik Kratz will have surgery on his left knee to repair a torn medial meniscus. An MRI preformed today revealed the extent of the injury to Kratz, who was placed on the disabled list after getting injured in Saturday night's loss at Milwaukee. Kratz is batting .229 with eight home runs and 22 RBIs in 43 games this season.

The San Diego Padres have placed rookie second baseman Jedd Gyorko (JUR'-koh) on the 15-day disabled list with a right groin strain. Gyorko is hitting .284 with eight homers and 25 RBIs.

The Arizona Diamondbacks have again optioned young left-hander Tyler Skaggs to Triple-A Reno. The Diamondbacks also placed reliever Matt Reynolds on the 15-day disabled list with a strained left elbow and recalled right-hander Charles Brewer and left-hander Joe Paterson from Reno.

The Cleveland Indians have acquired infielder John McDonald from the Pittsburgh Pirates for a player to be named or cash considerations. McDonald was 2 for 31 with the Pirates this season.

Rookie right-hander Gerrit Cole will make his major league debut on Tuesday night when the Pirates host defending World Series-champion San Francisco Giants. The Pirates' top pick in the 2011 draft went 5-3 with a 2.91 ERA in 12 starts with Triple-A Indianapolis this spring.
