Crews are making progress on the Keystone Fire and the recent rainy weather has only aided their efforts further.

Containment of the Keystone Fire is up to 75 percent, due to the combined efforts of the Rocky Mountain Blue team and the local Type 3 team, which took over management of the fire this week, according to a Keystone Fire Update.

Crews have been conducting reconnaissance flights have identified small spot fires outside the perimeter on the south side of the fire. Crews were able to contain a spot fire on the south side of the fire yesterday.

Crews will focus on patrolling and holding the fire’s perimeter and working on the contingency lines along roads 500, 507, 511 and 513.

The fire encompassed 2,520 acres as of yesterday, up from 2,490 on Wednesday.

Evacuation orders remain in place for Rambler, Moores Gulch, Keystone, lower Keystone, Lake Creek and the surrounding residences.
