A vehicle crash left nearly 3,000 customers of Rocky Mountain Power without electricity Friday morning. Margaret Oler of Rocky Mountain Power says the crash occurred around 6:47 a.m.Friday.

Power was restored to nearly all customers within an hour, but repairs were needed to a damaged power pole and electrical lines to restore service to the remaining homes and businesses.

University buildings affected by the power outage included residence halls, Washakie Dining Center, university apartments between 22nd and 30th streets, and fraternity and sorority homes. Classes, activities and fall graduation ceremonies will proceed as planned.
