Twenty-two sled dog teams will begin the annual International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race this evening at 6:30pm. The race is billed as the largest dog sled race in the lower forty-eight states.

There are twenty-two teams competing in this years race. The International Pedigree Stage Stop Sled Dog Race is the largest sled dog race in the lower forty-eight states and will have teams travel through a number of Wyoming communities before it finishes in Park City Utah on February 5th. Lander, Pinedale, Cora, Big Piney, Marbleton, Alpine, Kemmerer, Diamondville, Evanston, Mountain View as well as Lyman are the communities in which teams will travel through during the eight day race.

Out of the twenty-two teams, eight come from outside the United States. Canada has teams from British Columbia, Alberta, Ontario and the Northwest Territories competing. Also on the roster for competition are teams from Sweden and Jamaica. This year there are also five teams that will be driven by women.
