CHEYENNE, Wyo. (AP) — A federal prosecutor won't seek the death penalty against a Cheyenne man accused of shooting a 19-year-old in the head and dumping his body in a Wyoming reservoir.

Armando Ramirez-Serna is facing several charges, including murder, in connection to the death of Justin Robinson, whose body was found in a reservoir east of Cheyenne. His burnt SUV was found nearby.

Ramirez-Serna is accused of shooting Robinson while trying to rob him of marijuana.

Ramirez-Serna pleaded not guilty to second-degree murder and property destruction in Laramie County District Court in February.

He was charged in federal court in May with interference with commerce by robbery and three other counts.

A spokesman for U.S. Attorney Mark Klaassen's office wrote in an email that the office isn't seeking the death penalty.
