The Wyoming Game and Fish Department is hoping someone will come forward with information on a poaching case involving a pronghorn doe that was dumped near a church on the south side of Laramie Friday evening. The doe was pregnant with twin fawns at the time it was killed.

South Laramie Game Warden Bill Brinegar said the pronghorn carcass was dumped in a field at the end of Corthell Road near the First Church of the Nazarene. It was most likely dumped the evening of Friday, April 10. Warden Brinegar said the loss of twin fawns makes the case difficult to stomach.

"This is why we have hunting seasons when we do. These animals are under a lot of stress this time of year and now they're nearly ready to have fawns. This poacher didn't kill one antelope, he killed three antelope, and at a time when antelope numbers are down in some areas of the state," Warden Brinegar said.

Within the past week another pronghorn carcass was discovered in the dumpster at the First Church of the Nazarene but was taken to the landfill before Game and Fish wardens could investigate.

Brinegar is hoping the owner of a pickup truck seen in the vicinity of the church Friday night will contact Game and Fish with any information they might have about the crime. It was a newer model, dark colored, four door, dual-wheeled pickup with a custom bumper and grill guard and a toolbox or welder in the back.

"We would like to talk to this individual to see if they have any knowledge of this crime," Warden Brinegar said.

Anyone with information on these cases is asked to call the Stop Poaching Tip Line at 1-877-WGFD-TIP (1-877-943-3847). Tips may also be reported online at http://wgfd.wyo.gov. Informants can choose to remain anonymous and may be eligible for a reward for information leading to an arrest.
