Optimist Dog Park will be closed for maintenance beginning Tuesday, May 1 through May 31.

The Parks and Recreation Department will rehabilitate the park during this time, to repair the damage caused by ice, snow melt and heavy use.

Crews will be aerating, overseeding, fertilizing and propagating new grass to create a quality environment for the remainder of the summer. Crews are asking that Laramie residents abide by the closure during this time to allow the new seed time to grow and strengthen to ensure its viability for the future.

During the project, users are encouraged to use the off-leash area in Depot Park or the Aragon Dog park.
