Nuggets Drop The Ball Against Pacers – NBA Roundup For Feb. 11th
UNDATED (AP) — The NBA's conference leaders were able to stretch their leads on Monday. The Indiana Pacers did it by bouncing back from Sunday's loss at Orlando, and the Oklahoma City Thunder took advantage of San Antonio's loss in Detroit.
David West scored 25 points and Roy Hibbert added 14 as the Pacers rolled over the short-handed Nuggets 119-80. Indiana put together runs of 21-5 and 14-4 while building a 61-40 lead.
The rout gives the Pacers a 40-11 record and a four-game lead over Miami in the Eastern Conference. Indiana also is 10 percentage points ahead of Oklahoma City for the league's top record.
The Nuggets lost their third in a row and played without several injured players, including Andre Miller, Danilo Gallinari, JaVale McGee, Nate Robinson and Ty Lawson
The Thunder's lead in the West grew to 3 1/2 games when San Antonio lost 109-100 to the Pistons. Brandon Jennings scored 21 points and Rodney Stuckey added 20 in the Pistons' first game under interim coach John Loyer.
Marco Bellinelli had a team-high 20 points for the Spurs.
In other NBA finals:
— Houston has a six-game winning streak after Dwight Howard scored 18 points and grabbed 15 rebounds in the Rockets' 107-89 win against Minnesota. Chandler Parsons had a team-high 20 points for the Rockets, while James Harden added 19.
— Philadelphia has followed Sunday's 45-point loss to the Los Angeles Clippers with a 43-point setback at Golden State. Mareese Speights was among six Warriors to score in double-figures, finishing with a career-high 32 points on 12 of 15 shooting. Stephen (STEH'-phen) Curry hit six of his nine three-point tries and finished with 23 points.
— Kyle Lowry had 19 points and 12 assists in Toronto's third straight win, a 108-101 decision over New Orleans. Patrick Patterson and DeMar DeRozan each had 22 points in the Raptors' fifth consecutive win over the Pelicans.
— Boston was a 102-86 winner at Milwaukee behind Jeff Green's 29 points. Kelly Olynyk (OH'-lih-nik) added 14 points and 11 rebounds for the Celtics, who opened the fourth quarter on a 12-4 run to take an 82-72 lead.
MILWAUKEE (AP) — Milwaukee Bucks center Larry Sanders will be out until at least the All-Star break this weekend with a fractured bone near his eye.
Coach Larry Drew says Sanders was injured when he was elbowed in the right eye by Houston's James Harden as the two went for a rebound early in Saturday night's game.
Sanders missed nearly two months early this season after tearing a thumb ligament in a fight at a Milwaukee night club.
