Much of Wyoming may still be digging out from a winter storm that hit the area on Monday and Tuesday, but another blast of old man winter is headed this way in a couple of days, according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The agency posted this statement on its website:

''Those traveling north into northern Wyoming, Montana and South Dakota Friday evening into Saturday, be advised, we're looking at more winter weather. A very strong low pressure system is forecast to track across the area, bringing widespread snow and strong winds to southeast Wyoming and parts of the Nebraska Panhandle. We're looking at possibly 6 to 8 inches of snow across Converse (Douglas), Niobrara (Lusk) and the northern Nebraska Panhandle (Harrison to Chadron). As the low tracks into South Dakota, very strong north to northwest winds expected to develop, gusting greater than 45 mph. The combination of strong winds and this heavy snow could lead to near blizzard conditions. For areas south of the watched area, it certainly looks now that we will see those strong winds, possibly stronger than 45 mph. The low could track further south, if that happens, then these dangerous winter conditions could expand further south. Keep an eye on the weather forecast Friday into Saturday for future updates in the forecast. We'll keep you updated!'
