CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — A man accused of pulling a handgun on a patron at a Casper bar has pleaded guilty to aggravated assault.

The Associated Press reports Michael Litgen entered his plea in Natrona County District Court on Friday as part of a deal with prosecutors. In exchange, the state agreed to cap his sentence at six years.

Police say Litgen mistakenly thought a man was being told by a bartender to leave The Backdoor Lounge on June 3. Witnesses say he brandished what looked like a 9 mm pistol and pushed it flush against the man's neck, ordering him to leave the bar.

At that point, several other patrons overcame Litgen and forced him to the floor.

He will be sentenced at a later date.
