Former Wyoming congresswoman Cynthia Lummis says if she is elected to the U.S. Senate from Wyoming next year, her priorities will include fighting for the energy industry as well as the First and Second Amendments to the U.S. Constitution and supporting President Trump's goal of building a wall on the  U.S.-Mexican border.

Lummis made the comments on Thursday morning in an interview with Townsquare Media's Glenn Woods. Lummis says if elected to the seat being vacated by Sen. Mike Enzi next year, she will "stand shoulder-to-shoulder with President Trump" and will likewise work with Sen. John Barrasso to fight for Wyoming. She announced her plans to run for the seat earlier Thursday morning.

Despite announcing her campaign far in advance of the 2020 elections, Lummis says she wants to campaign "in a way that is really non-intrusive" for the rest of 2019 and "then really open it up in 2020."
