A Laramie man has pleaded not guilty to possession of methamphetamine in Albany County District Court.

According to court documents, Jeremy Shill has at least two prior convictions for possession of a controlled substance.

Shill was stopped by an Albany County Sheriff's deputy on Dec. 10 after the deputy witness Shill's Honda veer into the center of the travel lanes and then veer towards the sidewalk on Ivinson Street.

The deputy noticed that Shill was slurring his words and the deputy detected a strong odor of alcohol from the vehicle, according to the affidavit.

When asked, Shill said he did not have his driver's license and also admitted to having some drinks, according to court documents.

The deputy asked Shill to exit his vehicle and a pat down was conducted by another deputy, which turned up a clear glass pipe with suspected methamphetamine residue on it, according to the affidavit.

An open bottle of whiskey was also located in Shill's vehicle, according to court documents.

Shill submitted to a field sobriety test, which he performed poorly on. Shill was transported to the Albany County Detention Center and the Albany County Sheriff's office performed a chemical test of Shill's breath, which revealed an alcohol concentration of .18 percent, according to the affidavit.

Shill's trial is set for Aug. 14 and 15.
