Laramie Man Charged with Child Abuse
After a two week investigation, a local man has been charged with Child Abuse--Physical Injury.
The investigation began on January 22, 2019 when the Laramie Police Department recieved a call about a child with suspicious bruising near the 1700 block of Centennial Drive. A thorough investigation led to the arrest of a 24 year old man. The subject remains in custody at the Albany County Detention Center while his bond is set.
Under Wyoming statute an individual is guitly of Child Abuse--Physical Injury if a person responsible for a child's welfare did intentionally or recklessly inflict upon a child under the age of 18 physical injury, excluding reasonable corporal punishment, as noted in the police department's press release.
The charge of Child Abuse--Physical Injury is a felony, and is punishable by up to ten years in prison.
