Laramie Man Arrested for Arson in Connection with Seven Fires
A Laramie man has been arrested and charged with seven counts of third-degree arson, according to police.
Laramie police and detectives investigated seven suspicious fires from Sept. 4, 2018, to Jan. 14, 2019, resulting in the arrest of Samuel J. Pennington, 22, of Laramie on Jan. 17.
A person is guilty of third-degree arson if he intentionally starts a fire or causes an explosion and intentionally, recklessly or with criminal negligence destroys or damages any property of another which has a value of $200 or more.
Third-degree arson is a felony punishable by imprisonment for no more than five years, a fine of no more than $5,000, or both.
No bond has been set for Pennington and he remains in custody at the Albany County Detention Center as of Friday morning.
