An annual tradition with Laramie High School basketball is its alumni game, which takes place tonight in the main gymnasium at Laramie High School.

This year’s event starts with a fundraising dinner at 5 p.m. in the Commons at LHS. It features burritos smothered in old school “Beanery Restaurant” green chili. You also receive a drink and a raffle ticket. The cost is $10 for adults, while 12 and under are $5.

The basketball action features both Laramie High teams against a group of alumni. Action starts at 5:30 p.m. with the Lady Plainsmen facing the Alums in the first half. The Plainsmen will play the second half versus the Alumni. The combined score of the girls and boys will be counted against a mixed alumni squad.

There are over 20 former players representing four decades that will be playing for the Alumni team. The generations span the 80’s, 90’s, 2000’s and 2010’s.

The game is broken down into two 20-minute halves. The alumni will be able to substitute on the fly.

Halftime will feature the raffle of various prizes, plus some kid’s games.

The Alumni Committee is recognizing Brad Morehouse and Laramie GM Auto Center, plus Justin and Riley Meyen of Daylight Donuts for their contributions in funding the food for tonight’s game.

The game itself is free to attend.
