Kanye West Should Hold Sunday Service At Cheyenne Frontier Days [OPINION]
CFD is the biggest party in Wyoming. It's also the perfect place to welcome the Cowboy State's newest celebrity resident, Kanye West. Cheyenne Frontier Days should invite West and his all-star church choir to host a Sunday Service at the Daddy of 'Em All.
Kanye's gospel group has been praising the Lord all over the country this year. Starting on Easter Sunday at the Coachella Festival in California, they've staged public worship services in Baton Rouge, La., Los Angeles, Houston, Salt Lake City, and at the Buffalo Bill Center of the West in Cody.
By all accounts, Kanye's Sunday Service in Cody was a success. Nearly 4,000 people joined West and his ensemble to sing hymns. Kanye enjoyed the event so much, he wanted to build an amphitheater on his newly purchased ranch outside of Cody to host more Sunday Services. Park County officials recently denied his permit to build the venue, citing logistical concerns.
While Kanye's Monster Lake Ranch outside of Cody might be too small for his Sunday Service, Cheyenne Frontier Days could fill the grandstands. Kanye's choir might even draw a bigger crowd than the rodeo. Inviting West would also generate national publicity for CFD, which is struggling to attract younger audiences. And I suspect the producers of Keeping Up With The Kardashians would love to film Kanye and Kim Kardashian's four kids running around Frontier Park dressed up like little cowboys and cowgirls.
The best part about inviting Kanye West to CFD for a Sunday Service? He'd do it free and Mayor Orr could probably convince him to buy the Hitching Post.
