CASPER, Wyo. (AP) — Two K-9 teams have been brought in to help search for a woman who disappeared in the North Platte River in Casper.

Police Lt. Mike Thompson tells the Associated Press the dogs joined the search Friday and come from two search and rescue units. Two of the animals are from Jackson and the other two are from Cody.

Authorities say a caller reported someone yelling for help behind homes on North Center Street at about 5 a.m. Jan. 19.

When police and firefighters arrived, the woman was in the water clinging to ice. She lost her grip and disappeared under the ice before rescuers could reach her.
