Wind Chills Of -10 To -20 Expected In SE Wyoming, Snow Midweek

Bitterly cold temperatures are expected in Cheyenne and Laramie over the next 48 hours, with wind chills expected to reach as low as -20 in some areas.

That's according to the Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service.

The agency posted the following on its website:

''Winter is making up for lost time this week, with a very active week of weather expected ahead. TODAY: ❄️ Snow showers will taper off this morning, but bitter cold northerly winds gusting 35 to 45 MPH will stick around through the afternoon. With highs only in the upper teens and 20s, it will feel very cold. TUESDAY/WEDNESDAY: ️ Temperatures will warm up briefly on Tuesday, but expect very windy conditions. High Wind Watches and Warnings are in effect. Strong winds will carry into Wednesday with mountain snow possible during this period. Snow showers may spill into the high plains Tuesday night. THURSDAY: ❄️ The next system is expected around the Wednesday night/Thursday timeframe, and will bring another surge of cold air and possible snow to the mountains and High Plains. FRIDAY/WEEKEND: There is still quite a bit of uncertainty concerning the exact details, but another strong arctic cold front is possible in the Friday/Saturday time frame. Bitter cold temperatures may intensify through the weekend with chances for snow each day.''
