WHP: Cheyenne Frontier Days Detail Nets 845 Stops, 22 DUI Arrests
That's according to a release from the patrol issued on Monday morning [Aug. 28]. Spokesman Kyle Mckay says the Cheyenne Frontier Days High Visibility Enforcement Detail [HVE] resulted in 48 arrests. Besides the DUI busts, those included 13 misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance arrests, three people apprehended for felony possession of a controlled substance, 1 felony warrant arrest, and 9 people who were picked up on various other charges.
Mckay says the agency only investigated 7 car crashes, none of which resulted in a serious injury or death.
The release goes on to say: "Beyond their enforcement responsibilities, our troopers played a pivotal role in providing vital support to the local community.
