Interstate 80 between Rawlins and Cheyenne is still closed to light and high-profile vehicles due to extreme blowover risk, but all other traffic can now get through.

Eastbound Interstate 80 between Laramie and Cheyenne has been closed to light and high-profile vehicles due to extreme blowover risk.

All enclosed trailers under 40,000 gross vehicle weight are restricted.

As of 9 a.m., the estimated reopening time is in four to six hours.

8:22 A.M. UPDATE:

Westbound Interstate 80 between Cheyenne and Laramie has been closed due to rolling closure.

As of 8:18 a.m., the estimated reopening time is unknown.

Winter conditions and crashes have forced the closure of Interstate 80 between Rawlins and Laramie.

As of 7:11 a.m., the Wyoming Department of Transportation did not have an estimate as to when the roughly 100-mile stretch would reopen.

Black ice advisories are also in effect between the Utah state line and Creston Junction (Exit 187), along with no unnecessary travel advisories between Point of Rocks (Exit 130) and Tipton Road (Exit 158).

WYDOT says those traveling between Laramie and Cheyenne should also expect reduced visibility.
