The Cheyenne Office of the National Weather Service says record-to-near-record temperatures are possible in southeast Wyoming this weekend, especially on Sunday.

A heat advisory has been posted for Cheyenne starting on Saturday.

The agency posted the following on its website: "Temperatures heat up Friday - Sunday. This heat has the potential to break records in some areas! An isolated thunderstorm and rain showers are possible Friday afternoon into the evening, before the area heats up and dries out Saturday into Sunday. Stay cool and hydrated!"
