‘Large Amount’ of Drugs Seized in I-80 Traffic Stop Near Cheyenne
Two Laramie County women have been charged with drug trafficking after a Wyoming Highway Patrol trooper reportedly caught them speeding with drugs east of Cheyenne.
According to arrest records, 21-year-old Cheyenne resident Britney Louise Breazeale and 42-year-old Pine Bluffs resident Jennifer Lynn Kallevig were arrested near the Hillsdale exit on westbound Interstate 80 at 6:09 p.m. Friday, Oct. 29, after a trooper stopped them for speeding.
A K-9 team with the Laramie County Sheriff's Office conducted a free air search around their Jeep's exterior, and the dog alerted their handler to the presence of drugs.
A probable cause search was conducted and a "large amount of controlled substance in crystal and pill form was located."
Breazeale and Kallevig were subsequently charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and fentanyl and felony possession with intent to deliver methamphetamine and fentanyl.
Their bonds were each set at $5,000 cash and their preliminary hearings were scheduled for Oct. 10 at 2 p.m.
The duo's arrest came not quite four hours after 49-year-old Roland D. French, who has the same Pine Bluffs address as Kallevig, was arrested at W. 4th Street and Blair Street, just down the street from their residence.
According to a Pine Bluffs Police Department Facebook post, officers assisted Wyoming Division of Criminal Investigation agents with a search warrant at a local residence that day.
And according to French's booking sheet, he was transported from Pine Bluffs to the Laramie County Detention Center for DCI.
French was booked into the jail on three felony counts -- possession of a controlled substance, manufacture or delivery, and attempt and conspire.
He's scheduled to make his initial appearance in Laramie County Circuit Court tomorrow, Oct. 3, at 9:45 a.m.
