Speed, Equipment Failure/Issue Possibly to Blame in Fatal Rollover Crash

According to a fatality crash summary, the driver of a Dodge Ram 1500 was headed south at a speed too fast for the icy bridge deck, when they lost traction and the pickup began to rotate clockwise.

The pickup then slid off the right side of the interstate and rolled multiple times down a steep embankment.

The teen was wearing their seat belt but died from their injuries.

The driver was also reportedly injured in the crash, although the summary did not say to what extent.

The summary lists speed and an equipment failure or issue as possible contributing factors.

This is the 20th reported person to die on Wyoming's highways so far this year.
