A 21-year-old Wyomingite is dead following a single-vehicle rollover crash on Interstate 25, the Wyoming Highway Patrol says.

The crash happened around 11:10 a.m. on Sunday, July 27, near mile marker 144 northwest of Douglas.

According to a fatality crash summary, four people were traveling north in a Chevrolet Suburban when the driver went off the left-hand side of the interstate.

"The vehicle then traveled further through the median before the driver overcorrected to the right," the summary reads. "The vehicle began a driver-side leading slide before tripping, rolling twice before coming to rest on its wheels, blocking both lanes of travel."

Sadly, one of the passengers, Braeden Rayner, who was not wearing his seat belt, did not survive his injuries.

The two other passengers and the driver were also reportedly injured in the crash, but the Patrol did not say to what extent.

Driver Fatigue Possibly to Blame

The summary lists driver fatigue/asleep as a possible contributing factor.

Rayner is the eighth reported person to die in a crash on I-25 in Wyoming this year and the 68th reported person to die on Wyoming's highways this year.
