Rollover Crash in Albany County Leaves 1 Dead, 2 Injured
The Wyoming Highway Patrol says driver inattention may be to blame for last week’s single-vehicular rollover crash in Albany County that left one person dead and two others injured.
The crash happened around 11:16 a.m. on Tuesday, Oct. 7, at milepost 292.4 on U.S. 30/U.S. 287, south of Rock River, and had the section of highway shut down for about two and a half hours.
According to a fatality crash summary, three people were traveling in a Ram pickup when the pickup went off the right-hand side of the highway and the driver overcorrected, causing the pickup to slide across the highway, enter the ditch backwards, and trip and roll at least one time.
Sadly, 25-year-old Nebraska resident Yenley Martinez Perez, an unbuckled passenger, didn't survive their injuries.
The driver and another passenger were also reportedly injured in the crash, but the Patrol didn't say to what extent.
There have been 90 reported fatal crashes in Wyoming this year, resulting in 99 deaths.
