One Person Dead Following Saturday Night Shooting Near Cheyenne Grocery Store

One person is dead and at last report another was in custody following a shooting near King Soopers in Cheyenne on Saturday night.

That's according to a post on the Cheyenne Police Department Facebook page.

As of 6 a.m. Sunday neither the name of the dead person nor the suspect who was taken into custody had been released.

Police Were Called To The Scene A Little After 9 p.m.

According to the post, police were called out on a report of shots fired at 9:06 p.m. in the 3700 Block of Dell Rage near King Soopers. When they got there, police found one person with a gunshot wound, who was later declared dead on the scene.

A second person believed to be the suspect was taken into custody. Police say they don't believe there is any further threat to public safety.
